NINHAM COUNTRY HOLIDAYS

The Harvey family received recognition for their environmental input as long ago as 1993 when the A.A awarded them a very high accolade in this context. Prior to this, the owners had visited many like minded Park operators on the continent, notably in France and Germany.

However the composite beauty of Ninham remains quintessentially English and explains why the property was a lifestyle county retreat during the early Edwardian period. This 125 acre setting comprises of:

The Lake
"intoxicated with the sparkle, the ripple, the scents and the sounds and the sunlight, he trailed a paw in the water and dreamed long waking dreams" : (The Mole) Wind in the willows - Kenneth Graham

Top Moor
"I came on an elfish painter, and watched as his picture grew, a harebell nodded beside him. He dipped his brush in the dew" : The Elfin Artist - Alfred Noyes

The Pheasantry
"Under a tree were two Firlings painting the wings of a butterfly the most beautiful colours, and putting the spots on the ladybirds wings" : Timothy and the Forest Folk - Marilyn Nickson

The Meadow
"And this was one of the perfct moments of freedom and delight, such as children alone know, when all seems a perfect and blissful adventure" : Women in Love - D.H Lawrence

Scotchells Brook
" The rushing and the coolness, and the song of the brook and the birds, and the sense of the sun sinking, stilled even Mark and Bevis a little while" : Bevis - Richard Jefferies

" I come from haunt of coot and hern, I make a sudden sally, to sparkle out among the fern, and bicker down a valley" The Brook - Alfred Lord Tennyson
