Medina Valley Centre is a centrally located
residential activity centre. You can try sailing and dinghy
courses, curriculum based fieldwork, take part in marine
surveys, look at renewable energy systems or use the centre
as a base for walking holidays. They have gained thee Eco-Centres
2000 Award of the Tidy Britain Going for Green Group.
The
centre is primarily for schools and other groups, although
individuals can also take part in activities. There are
80 beds in 23 bedrooms (some twins with en-suite facilities),
dining room with river views, good home cooking with
catering for special diets, separate lounge with football
and pool tables, drying/changing rooms, non-alcoholic bar
and shop, 3 fully equipped classroom/laboratory/meeting
rooms and access to the local nature reserve. The centre
includes its residents in its environmental policy and
uses meters to survey energy used on the site.
