The Essex Restaurant in Godshill
prides itself on good quality cuisine using local
and organic ingredients, much of which comes from
the Godshill Park Farm. The latest menu is available
to see on-line, so you can anticipate how much your
taste buds will be tantalised before you arrive.
As well as evening opening, the restaurant is open
at lunchtimes for light refreshments, an ideal stopping
off point on your visit to Godshill (Just look for
the thatched kangaroo).
The menu is changed depending what
produce is in season and a vegetarian / vegan menu
is available. The Essex is open seven days a week from
11m to 4pm and for dinner from 7pm until late every
evening except Sunday. For additional atmosphere, Paul
Martinez plays relaxing Spanish guitar in the restaurant
on Friday and Saturday evenings.
The philosophy of The Essex is to ‘use
local produce to create delicious dishes for our clientele
and we endeavour to use local suppliers who share this
philosophy wherever possible.’ The Essex has
been awarded 2 AA rosettes.
