Walking into Bembridge windmill
is like discovering the unseen world of Windy Miller.
If industrial heritage is your thing, then take time
out to explore this little gem set in the rolling
East Wight countryside. With its original working
interior, you can really get the feel of what it
was like working here with the wind powering the
heart of the mill. Wind is still being used as a
source of renewable energy and you may wonder just
what the original inhabitants of this windmill will
think of our modern turbines.
If you are not already a National Trust member, you
can take advantage of the National Trust’s weekly
pass, which will give access to all of the islands
National Trust buildings.
The small gift shop at Bembridge offers a selection
of small gifts, as well as locally made biscuits and
ice cream. Hot beverage refreshments are also available.
