HOBBIT HOUSE

Open all year round Hobbit House provides one to one instruction on countryside skills and woodland crafts like hedgelaying, hurdle making, charcoal burning and carriage driving and has a double room and a twin room available for guests, while campers (tents only), horses and sheep friendly dogs are welcome by appointment.

Green tourism is all around with open space for walking and cycling and Hobbit House offers hose down and lock-up facilities for bikes and boots. The Tennyson Heritage Coast is only a mile away (the village pub is 300 yards) and packed lunches and supper are available.

There are two adventurous projects underway at Hobbit House; building Bagend (a low impact building in our wood) and creating a wildflower meadow. Sustainable, eco-friendly regeneration and permaculture are promoted throughout the ten acres of Hobbit House land and as part of their Environmental Policy , Hobbit House will pick guests up from anywhere on the Island!
