TOTLAND WILDFLOWER MEADOW

With the Wetland Walk almost completed, plans are now developing for the 2004 project. An old meadow in Totland will be opened up for public access and managed to benefit wildflowers and butterflies.

The meadow is currently a haven for common blue and marbled white butterflies, green-winged orchids, and the wonderfully named corky-fruited water dropwort.

What will the project involve?

If all goes according to plan, Gift To Nature will help to link the meadow with other footpaths in the area, creating a circular walk with the coastal path along Totland seafront.

This will hopefully involve artwork and interpretation as well as a small route card.
