ISLE OF WIGHT WALKING FESTIVAL
: 5th - 20th May 2007
Not surprising when you learn that it has over 500
miles of well-maintained and signposted footpaths around
30 miles of Heritage Coastline, while more than half
of the Island is recognised as an Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty. Add to this the good quality accommodation
and better than average UK weather, it's easy to see
why walking is so popular on this holiday Island.
Don't miss the Isle of Wight Walking Festival, a well-established
event builds on the resounding success of the previous
year's festival. Every year, many walkers some from
as far as America return to the Island to take part
and enjoy the great variety the Isle of Wight has to
offer, in so many different ways.
The Isle of Wight Walking Festival
features over almost 200 walks to suit all ages and
abilities be they seasoned ramblers, or the more leisurely
walker. Walk Wight this way, and experience one of
our Heritage walks, ghost walks, pub walks, pram walks
twilight walk, tea party walk to name but a few ...
Fire Walking is back for 2007 and
Green Island Coordinator Steve Blamire will be in action
again (see pic)! This year Steve is planning to do
both the Fire Walk and a new Broken Glass Walk!!! And
he has promised that he may even turn up for the speed
date walk!
